It’s time to start recording your voice and documenting your life.

Dear Artist,

The act of documenting your life is one of the most loving things you can do for yourself. It’s not indulgent. It’s not a waste of time. It’s self-preservation. And if you need proof, it’s also backed by science.

Puts professor glasses on.

Research shows when you document your emotions through writing or storytelling, your stress levels go down, your immune system improves, and you gain clarity in your decision-making. Writing helps regulate your emotion by naming it. Naming it makes it less scary. Sharing it makes you less alone.

Whether or not you ever share what you document, you’re preserving evidence of how you survived, how you loved, how you became… you.

And in doing so, you let us become the keeper of what might otherwise be erased.

The Creative Documentarian Camp is a 6-week live group camp focused on documenting your life by capturing your experiences through your voice and creative rituals one song, page, poem or story at a time. This is a guided, supported, community driven space for artists, creatives, and visionaries to witness their lives in real time through embodied creative practice. This isn’t about branding or business (though it may boost your business), this is about remembering who you are (Rafiki voice interjects with a Lion King soundbite)… REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE!!

And help others remember who you are by taking your place as the active author of your life by building your creative legacy one audio log and story collection at a time.

The receipts…

  • When you write about your experiences, your brain strengthens its memory pathways. You’re more likely to remember your own life with clarity and emotion (Ullrich & Lutgendorf, 2002).

  • Documenting helps you turn isolated moments into a continuous narrative, what psychologists call “narrative identity” and that’s a cornerstone of mental health and resilience (McAdams, 2001; Adler et al., 2016).

  • When you document your emotions through writing or storytelling, your stress levels go down (Pennebaker & Beall, 1986), your immune system improves (Pennebaker, 1997), and you gain clarity in your decision-making (Morisano et al., 2010).

  • People who track and reflect on their personal journeys, through journaling, audio logs, or photos, develop stronger self-awareness, goal clarity, and problem-solving skills (Campbell et al., 1996; Locke & Latham, 2002).
